Cate (Cathi) Miller teaches English at Central Academy in Des Moines, Iowa. In her 30 years of teaching, she has taught all levels of English from middle school to seniors, including two years teaching English in Japanese public schools.
Currently, she teaches at the district magnet school for accelerated learning, serving students from approximately 30 different schools. She earned her master’s degree in Educational Technology and believes that reducing the technology gap will substantially narrow the achievement gap.
She was the 2017 Iowa PBS Digital Innovator and served two years as a Technology Trailblazer. She lives in Des Moines with her husband, Paul, and daughter, Taylor Rae (17) where she is a closet writer and part-time actor and on the 30 year track to earn her PHD in rhetoric.
