Principal, Ron Brown College Preparatory High School
Benjamin Williams is the principal at the newly opened Ron Brown College Preparatory High School, DC’s first public all-male high school. Since December 2015, Williams has served as the planning principal for Ron Brown College Prep and before that was the associate principal at School Without Walls @ Francis-Stevens for two years.
As a school leader, he is willing to face any task or challenge in order to find ways for students to be successful. His motivation is witnessing the joy students demonstrate when they realize they can accomplish and overcome anything on which they set their minds.
In 2015, he received a Rubenstein Award for highly effective leadership. Williams began his career in Charlottesville, VA where he taught high school social studies, and served as an elementary and high school assistant principal.
Benjamin received his bachelor’s degree, master’s of teaching, and Ph.D. in leadership and administration from the University of Virginia.
