Rodrigo Garcia has educated the youth in his hometown Brownsville, Texas for 25 years in a range of Social Studies: 6th Grade World Cultures to 12th Grade AP European History. He is a proud father of a UT Longhorn son and High School skateboarding daughter. His beautiful wife is Griselda Moreno-Garcia, a College Algebra and AP Statistics Teacher. Rodrigo embraces his bi-cultural background, enjoys Texas diversity, engulfed with Dallas Cowboy football, and explores Yucatan Mexico with family whenever possible.
Professionally, Rodrigo taught nine years at Stell Middle School, eight years at Homer Hanna High School, and is completing his eighth year at Veterans Memorial Early College High School. He has served his campus and school district as Social Studies Chair 18 years, Advanced Placement Chair five years, and Magnet Program Chair four years. Rodrigo guided in excess of 200 students to college credit with their success in AP World History and AP European History. For 24 years Rodrigo has advised and sponsored his students in the annual National History Day competition. He is a four-time Senior Division Group Performance NHD sponsor for twenty students that are scholarship winners, national qualifiers, and national finalists.
